This adaptive reuse of an former gymnatorium into a full-time theatre was the result of a great deal of brainstorming. The scheme that ultimately succeeded reversed the building, repurposing the former stage as the lobby and then adding a stage to the other end of the former cafeteria area. The stage and control booth covered in show graffiti from years past were preserved and poetically, alumni now enter the space through the same proscenium arch within which they performed as students. Alec joined Charles Cosler Theatre Design while this project was in design and served as technical systems designer and later as the project manager during construction.
