Built in 1925 and designed by John Eberson, the spectacular Olympia Theatre is now called the Gusman Center for the Performing Arts. This atmospheric theatre was designed to resemble a walled Italian Garden. Working closely with RJ Heisenbottle Architects, Alec, then at FDA, helped to develop a multi-phased approach to the renovation. As funding allowed over several years, the stage rigging and dimming systems were replaced. New front of house lighting positions were added, and the auditorium and lobby were repainted and returned to their original splendor.
