Capital City Public Charter School
Washington, DC
Architect: Brailsford & Dunlavey
Brailsford and Dunlavey approached Alec to help Capital City Public Charter School evaluate their newly acquired facility, a junior high school decommissioned since 1992, where they plan to relocate their growing student population. Alec met with faculty and staff to discuss the goals, aspirations and limitations of their auditorium renovation including accessibility, seating, stage rigging and lighting systems. Alec provided a plan for phased improvements, resulting in a 650-seat auditorium with supporting spaces.
