Grant MacEwan University in Edmonton is relocating their Arts and Communications learning facilities to their City Centre Campus as part of their Single Sustainable Campus Project. GMU’s programs in Arts and Cultural Management, Communication Studies Design Studies, Fine Art, Music, Theatre Arts and Production will be combined within this new facility.
The new Centre for the Arts and Culture building will include a 450-seat theatre, a 240-seat recital hall, and a black box theatre as well as a full complement of rehearsal spaces, back of house, and theatre production shops and labs. Two recording studios with classroom control spaces are included in the project as well.
Stages is partnered with Engineering Harmonics, and is working with Bing Thom Architects providing both theatre and acoustics planning and design for the University.
