Over several years Alec, as FDA's project manager has worked with a multiple planning teams and management consultants to assist the Scottsdale Cultural Council in planning their current and future projects. While working with ZHA and Vital Management Solutions, Alec helped to develop a conceptual design for the renovation of the Scottsdale Center for the Arts. The concept for the Virginia Piper Theatre was approved and in 2009 Alec participated in carrying out that plan with John Douglas Architects. His concept for the renovation of their smaller venue (Stage 2) has been endorsed by all of the stakeholders and awaits funding. In addition to this study, Alec has also worked with B Squared Consulting on a Cultural Needs Assessment and with Webb Management Services on a new Cultural Master Plan for the City of Scottsdale.
