PROJECT DETAIL
The Davis Theater is one of the last operating neighborhood movie theaters in Chicago, with a rich history that began in 1918 with vaudeville shows and silent films. The renovation restored and reconfigured this century-old relic neighborhood movie theater to its current state as an historical landmark and community center for cinema and the arts. This transformation modernized the cinema further by linking to a gastro pub.
As part of the renovation team, Stages provided acoustics, theatrical planning and equipment advice. The acoustical scope included room acoustics recommendations for interior cinema finishes and seating, sound isolation from internal and external noise sources and general noise control recommendations for mechanical, electric and plumbing systems.
