The Cowan Center houses the School of Performing Arts for the University of Texas at Tyler and is the primary performance space for the East Texas Symphony Orchestra. Stages designed a custom orchestra shell for the East Texas Symphony Orchestra permanently installed at the Cowan Center for the ETSO’s season opening gala in September 2015. It is used for all of their concerts as well as those by the UT Tyler Music Department. Onstage storage space was a concern when planning this shell, so Stages developed a system whereby the shell towers separate from their bases and fly to store along the upstage wall.
