PROJECT DETAIL
This enormous development that was planned on the site of the Hotel Rossija opposite Red Square in Moscow was to include five hotels, an underground shopping mall, and a museum, as well as a 2000-seat horseshoe shaped multi-purpose hall, a 1600-seat vineyard style symphony hall and a 500-seat flexible theatre with rows of motorized tiered seating that could become a flat-floored function space or a cabaret theatre. The development company fell on hard times and the project was delayed and ultimately canceled. A new project is being planned on this site with a new developer and Woods Bagot Architects that will include a single 3,500-seat transformable convention hall. Alec was project manager and theatre consultant for this theatre while at FDA.
