Eli Thomas

Eli Thomas is the newest member of the Stages’ team and serves as our Stage Machinery Designer/Draftsperson. Eli’s current projects with Stages include Kings High School in King Mills, OH; Millburn High School in Millburn, NJ; Hillside High School and Monclair High School both in Montclair, NJ; and the ConnCAT Development in New Haven, CT.

Before joining Stages, Elijah received the Kenan Fellowship at the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. and served as Resident Assistant Lighting Designer for Signature Theatre’s 2023-24 season, where he worked with Broadway’s top lighting designers.

Eli has worked as a lighting designer for theater, opera, and live performances including the Teatro Nacional, and the Presidente Theater in San Salvador. In Winston Salem, his work has been seen at The Stevens Center, The Gerald Freedman Theater, The Catawba, and more. In addition to his theatrical work, Elijah has broad experience in corporate events, including clients such as Foodlion, Channel Advisor, QDS.

His recent design works include Amadeus, directed by Quinn Gordon, Encanto, directed by Gisela Estrada, Next: A Contemporary Dance Film, choreographed by Ashley Lindsey and Grady Bowman; and Before We Go, choreographed by Grady Bowman.

Eli Thomas received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Lighting and Technology at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
