
Adam T Huggard
Adam T Huggard’s resume includes well over 200 performing arts projects over his 25 year career in which he was the principal in charge or lead designer. Adam has served many roles in our industry which gives him a unique perspective in both the technical and design sides and allows him to execute holistic, integrated facilities for his clients that work brilliantly for artists, audience and staff.
Adam’s current projects with Stages include a new music center for Sarasota Orchestra in Sarasota, FL; the PNE Amphitheatre in Vancouver, BC; a new performing arts complex at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL; the renovation of the Zeiterion Performing Arts Center in New Bedford, MA; the renovation of the Bijou Theatre in Knoxville, TN; and the recently opened Knight Recital Hall at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL; and the Roger Glass Center for the Arts at the University of Dayton in Dayton, OH.
Prior to joining Stages, Adam consulted for Fisher Dachs Associates where he participated in designing and managing over 120 facilities across the US and overseas. Notable projects include: the Gaillard Center in Charleston, SC; the Tobin Center in San Antonio, TX; the Smith Center in Las Vegas, NV; David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center in New York City; the Walker Art Center’s Studio Theatre in Minneapolis; Chautauqua Institution Amphitheatre in Chautauqua, NY; Hartford Stage in Hartford, CT; New York Times Auditorium in New York City; Simon’s Rock College of Bard, in Great Barrington, MA; the Richmond Hill Theatre in Richmond Hill, Ontario; Marlborough College Memorial Hall in Marlborough, UK; the Dorothy Young Concert Hall at Drew University in Madison, NJ; and The Phantom Theatre at the Venetian Hotel/Casino in Las Vegas. Adam’s work at the Tobin Center included working with a leading equipment manufacturer to design and install the first motorized transformable floor system in the United States. Previously, Adam helped design and specify state-of-the-art stage lighting systems for the renovation of Radio City Music Hall in New York.
Adam received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatrical Production with an emphasis in Lighting Design from Ithaca College in 1998. Adam is also an accomplished scenic designer and received the Connecticut Critics Circle Award for Best Scenic Design in 2001. He has taught theatre design modules for architecture students at Rhode Island College, Roger Williams University and Yale University.
