PROJECT DETAIL
Indian River School District passed a referendum in 2020 to address overcrowding. The current Sussex High School was housing 1,800 students in a building designed for 1,500 and anticipated that the student population would rise to 1,950 by 2024. The new high school will be built next to the current building and is designed to house 2,200 students. Stages’ scope includes the theatre planning and AV design for a complete renovation to the current school’s 600-seat proscenium theatre, and the addition of a black box theatre within the existing footprint, or as an addition. This project is in construction and planned to open for the 2024-25 school year.
