PROJECT DETAIL
Designed by Arquitectonica, the South Miami-Dade Cultural Center was envisioned not only as part of the economic revitalization of Cutler Ridge, a neighborhood south of Miami, but as an opportunity for community outreach and arts education. The main building contains a 966-seat proscenium theatre with a full fly tower and a studio theatre that is frequently used as a cabaret space. The education center lies across a plaza and contains two rehearsal halls (both of which are used for performances) and a classroom. Damian (at Artec) and Alec (at FDA) collaborated on the design and construction of this exciting new project.
