PROJECT DETAIL
Rollins College Department of Theatre and Dance provides for the development of imaginative, purposeful, and skilled expression. The historic Fred Stone Theatre, originally built in 1926, which hosted the college program’s Second Stage, was in dire need of replacement, and closed before the end of the 2017-2018 school year. The Tiedtke Theatre and Dance Center includes a 130-seat black box, a space where students produce, direct, and perform their own works, that features retractable seating supplemented by tiered portable seating to maximize flexibility. Stages’ scope included the theatrical, audio-visual and room acoustics design of the new building. The facility, which includes a costume lab, classrooms, faculty offices and a dance rehearsal studio opened for the 2023-24 school year.
