PROJECT DETAIL
Miller Symphony Hall was originally built in 1896 as a Central Market and was converted to a theatre in 1899. It hosted vaudeville, operas, plays, films, and concerts. It was purchased by the Millers in 1959, was renamed Allentown Symphony Hall and became a venue for classical music and stage plays. Now known as Miller Symphony Hall, it is currently operating and is managed by the Allentown Symphony Association. Offering a wide variety of classical, pops, chorale, and other acoustical music performances, the hall is also available for rentals and presentation of comedy, theatre, and popular music. Stages’ scope included a two-part study to assess existing conditions and make recommendations for improvements to the front and back of house and equipment upgrades.
