PROJECT DETAIL
As noted by the Delaware State Park historian, The Post Theatre at Fort DuPont is a fine gathering place for the local community to watch plays, musicals, films and modern movies. On National Registry of Historic Places, the fort itself dates back to the Civil War era. The 390-seat proscenium theatre was added in the 1930s. Stages performed a two-part programming study to renovate The Post Theatre. A concept design was developed for a new amphitheatre to accommodate lawn seating for 5000, a shared support building with dressing rooms, offices and public accommodations. The existing PX building will be renovated into a restaurant and VIP area.
