The Visual and Performing Arts Center Project at Compton Community College includes the replacement of three of four wings of the Music Y Building, which have not been touched since their construction in 1958. The new Visual and Performing Arts Building will bring modern, seismically safe, efficient spaces to the Music and Dance programs. A new blackbox theatre will be configured for flexibility to meet the needs of both programs. The building will include acoustically isolated individual music practice rooms. Stages’ scope includes theatre planning and acoustics. This project is in design.
