PROJECT DETAIL
Working with Diamond Schmitt Architects, Alec was faced with a unique challenge to refit a 19th century textile building to house the theatre program of Brock University. The existing building will house the theatre program – 500 students and faculty will be accommodated in classrooms, teaching studios and support spaces, and includes a 280-seat flexible studio theatre. The complex, planned to revitalize downtown St Catharines, was designed to serve both the university and provide a gathering space for civic activities.
