Damian was one of four principal consultants of the Sound of Jazz Joint Venture responsible for the acoustics and theatre design of Jazz at Lincoln Center’s entire facility. The venue includes an 1,100-1,230 flexible seating auditorium, a 140-person jazz club, a 600-seat amphitheatre – the iconic Allen Room – an education center and rehearsal spaces. These spaces extend Lincoln Center’s capability to host a variety of events from intimate ensembles, opera and jazz orchestras, to banquet and reception functions.
In projects ranging from New York City (Lincoln Center) to Miami (the Arsht Center) to Flint, Michigan (the Whiting Auditorium and Capitol Theatre), and from systems improvements to new construction to historic restoration work, Alec and his team have provided insightful, thoughtful input that has consistently added substantive value to the work.”
