An integral part of Goldman Sachs’ $2.1 billion global headquarters in New York City, the 350-seat Goldman Sachs Auditorium balances technical sophistication with spatial clarity and comfort. Used for everything from employee orientations to global executive broadcasts, the space is equipped with a fully automated HD broadcast system, including remote-controlled cameras and a live-mix production studio, allowing a small crew to quickly adapt between event formats.

Alec worked closely with SHoP Architects to integrate demanding AV and broadcast infrastructure without compromising the architectural experience. The room’s geometry, finishes, and lighting were all developed to support both the technical performance and the comfort of high-level users.

A key feature is the stage lift, which allows for flexible spatial relationships: it can be set flush with the front row for informal talks or raised for more traditional presentations. This adaptability supports a range of communication styles while maintaining visual and acoustic integrity across configurations.
