Nora Carr
Nora Carr is an acoustics consultant. Over the two years since joining Stages, they’ve become an integral member of our acoustics team providing analysis of room acoustics, sound isolation and noise control for a variety of spaces and activities ranging from small classroom and practice spaces through large concert and theater venues.
Nora’s current projects with Stages include a new music center for the Sarasota Orchestra in Sarasota, FL; the Freedom Mobile Arch (PNE Amphitheatre) in Vancouver; BC, the Joyce Theatre in New York, NY, the Weehawken Performing Arts Center in Weehawken, NJ; several performing arts spaces across the massive new Oakridge Mall development; the Venice Theatre in Venice, FL; Newark School of Architecture and Design in Newark, NJ; the Olana Center in Hudson, NY; and a new performing arts complex at the University of Central Florida. Other notable projects include the eLearning Innovations Lab at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, OH; Rutgers Preparatory School in Franklin, NJ; and Perona Farms in Andover, NJ.
Prior to joining Stages, Nora worked as a student consultant for Mandell Jewish Community Center in West Hartford, CT, gathering data on reverberation times and background noise levels, and presenting options for acoustical treatment.
Nora received a Bachelor of Science in Acoustical Engineering and Music from the University of Hartford. They are pleased to apply their interest in music and flute playing with a firm that designs spaces that enrich the experience of musicians and their audiences. Nora is a member of the Acoustical Society of America, the National Council of Acoustical Consultants, and the League of American Orchestras.
