Alec, working at FDA, was approached by SOM New York to help them to reconfigure a gymnasium into a 400-seat endstage theatre and a 50-seat studio theatre along with dressing rooms and a small scene shop. The performance spaces were designed to serve the theatre and music programs' needs acoustically, theatrically and technically as well as with an emphasis on safety. Motorized front of house lighting pipes lower so that they can be serviced and hung from the floor rather than from ladders.
